For Easter, new dresses were sewn for us three girls. It was a post-war time, and Easter was considered a big celebration. New dresses were sewn for Easter, May Day, and November 7th. Three festival that we girls were especially looking forward to. Admittedly, there was not that much to expect, as it was not a particularly rich time. But our mother sewed similar dresses for all three of us. It was festive, of course.
