A view of Porvoo river in the winter

February in Porvoo

Getting to know the city

I heard Porvoo was a sympathetic, fairy-tale city, like straight from a postcard. Red small houses in the middle of white snow. I miss the snow in the winter when it gets dark already at three in the afternoon. I miss the reflection of light from the white snow. When you feel depressed, they recommended going more outdoors. In winter, it is difficult to do that as you should be able to get out during the short daylight time. That is the challenge. Snow scrunch works better than vitamin D, but unfortunately it can’t be bought in a plastic jar from a pharmacy.
